Christmas Crochet

http://www.ravelry.com/stores/michelle-ryan-nezumiworld10 days to Christmas wow that was quick!
I have been ill for what seems like weeks and weeks with bronchitis. I have not felt like doing anything, my poor blog has not had any updates for ages :( but I am much better now so have managed to complete the Celtic Knotwork Christmas Charts E-book at last. It has been added to my Ravelry store today, this version of the e-book uses American crochet terms (All 3 charts are also available individually).

I will be adding a version of the e-book using UK crochet terms tomorrow to the LoveKnitting.com site as this is a UK based site (my other patterns on their are currently using American crochet terms but I will be updating themearly next year).

http://www.nezumiworld.com/crochet_126.htmI wanted to remind everyone there are lots of free Christmas charts on my main website, here are a few mix and match Happy Christmas Charts in Spanish, France, German, Irish, Portuguese, and Italian. I'll post more free matching chart links tomorrow :)

Tree Gift Tag

Yesterday I posted the Angel Gift Tag, today as promised it's the Tree Gift Tag. Both of these new designs match the Christmas Bauble Gift Tag from a couple of years. There is also some photo's on how to decrease in filet crochet.on that blog post.
Instead of making this as a gift tag you could make a Christmas tree decoration.
The chart can be used not just for crochet but also knitting, cross stitch and beading weaving, beaded crochet/ knitting, tunisian crochet, embroidery.....

I recommend a 1X1 filet crochet and no10 cotton, but you could use any yarn (make sure the hook is correct for that yarn thickness) The size will depend on the thickness of yarn used.

Chain 27 turn, chain 3 (this will count as first treble crochet (UK)/ first double crochet (USA) of first row), 1 treble crochet (UK)/ 1 double crochet (USA) into the 5th chain from the hook, treble crochet (UK)/ double crochet (USA) in next 2 chains to
complete bottom right solid square of pattern.
Continue following pattern for the first row reading the graph right to left. After completing first row, chain 3 to turn to start next row.Continue following graph until all rows are complete.
At end of row 19 fasten off.

Angel Gift Tag

I designed two new gift tags this year to match the Christmas Bauble Gift Tag from a couple of years that proved very popular. There's also some photo's on how to decrease in filet crochet.on that blog post.
I am posting the angel gift tag today and the tree gift tag tomorrow.

Christmas Windows 2013

I was out 'n' about in the Oxford Street which has all its lights and decorations up and looks great this year. Looking at the Christmas windows. Selfridges has always had sparkly windows with some animated I liked the cat slipper (his ears move) and all the little penguins.

John Lewis had some really good windows this year. They used cups, plates, pots and pans plus many other items you can find in the kitchen to decorate their windows.
Very clever :)

Christmas Gift Tag

With Christmas coming I decided to make some different gift tags
This is the chart for the Christmas Bauble Gift Tag. It could also be used as a tree decoration.
The chart can be used not just for crochet but also knitting, cross stitch and beading weaving, beaded crochet/ knitting, tunisian crochet, embroidery.....
I made my sample in 4ply cotton so it a little big but is easier to photograph, the real one will be in N0.10 cotton thread :)

I recommend a 1X1 filet crochet
Chain 27
turn, chain 3 (this will count as first treble crochet (UK)/ first double crochet (USA) of first row), 1 treble crochet (UK)/ 1 double crochet (USA) into the 5th chain from the hook, treble crochet (UK)/ double crochet (USA) in next 2 chains to

At end of row 19 fasten off.
